Introduction

Collecting Picture Postcards is a fascinating hobby with plenty of themes to choose from. The first postcard with a picture was introduced in 1894 and the first  IOC Olympic Games took place in Athens in 1896. My chosen subect of Olympic postcards therefore perfectly illustrates the development of the Picture Postcard over the last century.      

Gallery Contents

I have scanned all my collection up to the Seoul Olympics in 1988. If there is a card with an interesting postmark or stamps then the reverse of the card has also been scanned.

Postcard condition

I  try only to collect cards in good condition or better as they retain their value over a period of time. I have assessed the condition of each card as noted in the Galleries.

I have included an estimated value of the card based on what I paid and my collecting experience. Please be aware this value could change and is not necessarily the selling price. 

Buying
